So keeping with my blogs theme I posted Snickerdoodles. Snickerdoodles are strange cookies; they are perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I guess the odd name is fitting for these conundrum cookies. On top of being crispy and chewy they are also rolled in cinnamon-sugar.

These cookies will be gone in a second – you think i’m exaggerating but i literally had rip these out of peoples hands to get pictures.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
For rolling:
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Cream butter with sugars
  3. Add egg beating well, add vanilla mixing until incorporated 
  4. In a small bowl whisk flour with baking soda and cream of tartar
  5. Gradually stir flour mixture into the sugar/butter mixture
  6. In a small bowl mix sugar with cinnamon
  7. Roll 1 inch balls of dough in the cinnamon-sugar
  8. Place on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 10 -12 minutes, depending on level of crunchyness.
